Art Gallery

In 1996, East London Mods Alex Banks and Christopher Lord formed the Art Gallery DJ Collective, joined by Lady Michelle, Flaz, Cess, and Graeme Very. Together, they spun an electrifying mix of ’60s Soul, Beat, Jazz, and Psych, bringing their unique sound to the dancefloors.

Art Gallery debuted their first club night, The Beat Bubble Ball, on December 22, 1996, at The Clinic in Chinatown. In 1997, they became guest DJs at Paul Hallam’s Popcorn night at the iconic 100 Club on Oxford Street.

For the next five years, Art Gallery ran the now-legendary Lordy Lord!—a club night renowned for its soulful tunes and packed, sweat-drenched dancefloors. The energy was electric, and the crowds couldn’t get enough.

Building on their success, Art Gallery expanded into fashion, launching a clothing range that captured the spirit of their scene.

The rest, as they say, is history.
